Identifying Projects to Fund
The Giving Circle builds a pipeline of potential grantees by accessing member networks, like-minded organisations and tracking timely information and data on selected areas where need is greatest. Organisations who have already been granted funds or who fit our funding focus are - by invitation only - asked to complete a grant application and present in person to our members.
Grant Size and distribution
Currently, the Giving Circle of Ireland provides minimum grants of €5,000, which are distributed in partnership with The Community Foundation Ireland. Impact measurement and reporting is also managed in partnership with the Community Foundation Ireland.
Funding Cycles
The Giving Circle has two funding cycles per year, one focused on supporting past grantees and the second is focused on selecting new grantees. Decisions are made in May and November each year, with approximately 4 grants made per year.
Strategic Volunteering
The Giving Circle identifies opportunities to match member talent with social purpose organisations’ capacity building needs. Members engage with groups that resonate with their interests and experience so they can contribute their time and skills.
