Identifying Projects to Fund

During the course of the year, The Giving Circle builds a pipeline of potential grantees by accessing member networks, like-minded organisations and tracking timely information and data on selected interest areas. Organisations who fit our funding focus, are invited to complete an application, describing a specific project for which funding is needed.  All members have a chance to identify and invite groups to pitch.

Grant Size and distribution

Currently, the Giving Circle of Ireland provides minimum grants of €5,000, which are distributed in partnership with The Community Foundation for Ireland.

Funding Cycles

The Giving Circle has two funding cycles per year, one focused on supporting past grantees and the second is focused on selecting new grantees. Decisions are made in May and November each year, with approximately 4 grants made per year.

Strategic Volunteering & Pro-bono work

The Giving Circle identifies opportunities and hosts flash consulting workshops to match member talent with social purpose organisations’ capacity building needs.  Members are encouraged to personally become involved in groups that resonate with their interest areas so they can contribute their time and skills.
